This classic HOPI or NAVAJO Bolo Tie is not hallmarked which was common in Native American Silver work prior to 1970's. We believe this Bolo Tie was created circa 1960 or perhaps earlier.

This fine Bolo Tie was skillfully crafted with attention to detail in the HOPI or NAVAJO tradition and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The Bolo has a yoke fastener that is in good condition and working order.

Overall, the sterling silver Bolo plaque measures approx. 1 1/8" diameter.  As a general rule, the smaller bolos are created earlier (see photo of bolo tie inventor VIC CEDARSTAFF from the book BOLA TIE by Bola Bill Kramer).

The bolo is attached to braided black leather cord that is in good condition - clean, strong and wearable with sterling silver tips. The cord measures approx. 36 1/2" long including 1 1/2" decorative silver tips. This HOPI Bolo Tie with cord weighs 21.4 grams - .690 ounce TOTAL.
