The term "Soup and Fish" dates back to the 19th Century. It was used in 1920's slang for formal dress, tuxedos, dinner suits, etc as that is what one would wear to elaborate, multi-course dinners that usually included both Soup and Fish.  This is a 5x7 reproduction print from a vintage sheet music cover entitled  Soup and Fish. It features a bowl of soup and a fish dressed in white gloves and tuxedos with tails seeming to dance across the page. Super cute for the kitchen!
