It would certainly have a few stoies to tell if it could talk.

Introducing the Westone Thunder 1A Bass, a remarkable representation of Japanese craftsmanship from the esteemed Matsumoku factory. Dated back to 1984, this bass belongs to the second iteration of the three distinct Thunder 1A versions, a series celebrated for its exemplary design and sound quality. This particular model, produced between 1983 and 1985, boasts a harmonious maple body and neck construction, offering a resonant and rich tonal foundation.

The Thunder 1A features a versatile single split-coil pickup system, complemented by a unique control setup that includes volume control, as well as active and passive tone controls. The distinctive brass knobs add a touch of elegance, with the active tone knob clearly marked with "B-O-T" (bass/off/treble) for intuitive tone shaping. Additionally, it is equipped with two micro switches, one to toggle the active circuit on/off and another serving as a dual tone switch, further enhancing its sonic flexibility.

The bass's bridge and tailpiece are crafted from brass, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and durability, alongside full adjustability for optimal string action and intonation. The bolt-on neck design is reinforced with a "Made in Japan" stamped neckplate, adding to the instrument's authentic pedigree.

Completing the Thunder 1A's distinguished look are the headstock's Westone tuners, arranged in a classic two-a-side configuration, the iconic ''Westone'' logo, and a truss rod cover emblazoned with ''Thunder 1A bass''. This bass not only stands as a testament to the legacy of Matsumoku's craftsmanship but also serves as a versatile instrument capable of delivering a wide range of tones to accommodate any playing style.
