now this is a rare model a pathé reflex tropical model made in tinplate , the humidity would get the wooden ones but not this type , its metal hand painted to look like wood , and apart from the centre panel of the lid is still excellent , as can be seen the lid top has wear from i guess things being piled on top of it , pathé are the best known of the gramophone makers in France and started off with cylinder types , this one came out in the 1920s and was ideal to send to French colonies around Africa , looks to have just been bought home and stored and forgotten , works fine played a 12 inch 78 all the way through no problem , its a hill and dale machine meaning originally it was designed to play down the groove not side to side , it still has the plastic stylus with the ball tip , but it also takes needles and will play fine too , head is a concert pick up and has its own box , there's also what looks like pathe grease in a tub , machine is approx. 42 x 42 x 42 cms and weighs over 10 kgs , will be double boxed in thick walled cartons including lots of bubble wrap
