This is a superb and high quality solid silver cigarette box by the renowned and collectable maker William Comyns and Sons of London.

The hallmarks are very strong on the left had side of the main box and lid with the RC in a shield with a dot under the letters for William Comyns and Sons Ltd, the Panther for London, Lion Passat and date letter "P" for 1930. Please see the pictures and do your own research to confirm.

The box measures 19.1 cm long, 8.8 cm wide, and stands 5.1 cm tall, approx.

Inside the box is the usual Cedar wood that smells lovely, there are slots to change the size of the three compartments. The lid fits well and makes a good tight connection. The box is highly polished but does have some damage which is part of its life, there are some dents on the left hand side of the lid and right hand bottom corner otherwise it only has surface marks consitant with its 100+ years of age. These markes could be taken out by a silversmith but in my opinion they are part of its history.

This is a very high-quality piece which would make a great addition to any collection, but would also make a very unusual piece to mark a special occasion such as a Wedding, Birthday or Anniversary.
