This is an antique sailor captains hat with original white cover. The buttons are marked RCYC with the kings Crown, and an anchor which leads me to believe it is from the royal Canadian yacht club in Toronto. This club was founded in 1852 but judging by the material used in this hat, it’s probably from the 1930’s. The snap securing the top cover is marked united CARR which was founded in 1929. The patch on the front is made with metallic thread almost the same as the materials used ww1 hat patches. The cover It is a thick material I would almost describe it as a very fine corduroy. The actual hat is made with a thick wool felt.

There’s a lot of handstitching on this hat. The interior support is made out of leather

There is a label on it that I cannot decipher. It is under a waterproof layer on the inside of the hat.

Overall, this hat is in remarkable condition. It could be displayed or worn.
