This is a listing for a Vintage FOSTORIA 70878 Globe Lamp Shade, sampled when the NEEDLEPOINT (#4184) pattern was in creation. This is Gold Amber in color with opalescent white milk glass detailed diamond pattern. This is a Factory SAMPLE and has red factory writing of the factory number on the side, as seen. This will be circa pre-1959 which is when the Needlepoint pattern was put into production. This was in the design morgue at the time of the factory's closing. This was made by the Fostoria Glass Company in Moundsville, West Virginia, USA.
This is in vintage condition with original factory dirt and writing on the side. Both the top and bottom rims are not polished. There is some variation on the white lines, as seen. It is not unusual for Sample items, from the glass morgue to be unfinished, have flaws or damage as they were for reference only.
This measures approximately 5" high & 5" in diameter with the smallest opening being 2 1/8".
