This is a listing for a Vintage FOSTORIA #2364 Sonata 13" Fruit Bowl Large Serving Salad Bowl which is in the HOLLY pattern, cut #815. This comes with the original Art Department tracing for this item in this pattern as well as 2 different leaflet brochures. The bifold leaflet lists the fruit bowl in the items available. The bowl is clear in color and is round in shape. The bowl has the original factory dirt, shows the work lines for the pattern and has the acid etched word SAMPLE on it. The tracing says "2364 14" Fruit Cut 815 52 parts around". This pattern has a MCM Mid Century Modern style and has a ground bottom. This item in this pattern was in production from 1942-1943 and 1950-1965. These were made by the Fostoria Glass Company in Moundsville, West Virginia, USA and were retrived from the factory after it closed.
This is in vintage condition with original dirt from the factory, work lines, bubbles, stray marks, the word SAMPLE acid etched and a chip in the rim of the bowl. The tracing is fragile in nature and the leaflets are in good vintage condition. It is not unusual for Example & Sample items, from the glass morgue to have permanent writing, be unfinished, have flaws or damage. If they had been perfect, they would have been sold.
This measures approximately 13" in diameter by 2 3/8" high. The tracing is approximately 8 1/2" x 11". The leaflets are 3" x 6 1/2" and 5" x 3 1/2".
