Vintage Greek gilded sterling silver cup modeled after an ancient Mycenaean solid gold cup circa 1500-1450 BCE made by Llias Lalaounis. The original cup was found in the Mycenaean tomb at Vapheio in Laconia. Cup is adorned with repousse work and depicts a dramatic scene of men hunting wild bulls. As seen on the mug: one man is being trampled. one man has been tossed mid air, and one bull has been caught in a large net tied between two trees. Most likely dates to the mid 20th century.

Hallmarks: Base is stamped "Lalaounis - 925 - A.43" alongside a maker's mark.

Dimensions: Length 4 1/4” x Top Diameter 3 1/4" x Base Diameter 2 1/4" x Height 3".

Weight: 132.9 grams or 4.7 oz.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with light wear. Gold plating is very strong. Minor tarnish showing through along the crevices.
