The futuristic, elegant stainless steel cutlery used by the Jupiter Mission crew to eat dinner In Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) were in fact designed a decade earlier than the film's release, by Danish designer Arne Jacobsen. The same cutlery pattern appears in tv series: Star Trek Strange New Worlds.
