Woolly Mammoth Tooth Fossil

This one is in solid condition as far as holding together goes. As you can see in the pictures, there is surface wear typical of fossilized substance of this vintage. This mamoth tooth is not large but weighs about 1 lb. 4 oz. You can see in the pict. that it is about 5-1/2" long on the grinding, chewing tooth surface. (A great size to pass around the room to your guests and not worry about them dropping it on their foot or the floor. The color of this fossil tooth is a beautiful brown with tans as you can see.

This historic mammoth fossil makes a great conversion collection piece to have on your coffee table!  Mastadons and wooly mammoths appear to be different creatures as you read about them and see pictures of them. Although we probably do not see actual photos, I would imagine that artists renditions of the extinct creatures are accurate enough to distinguish a difference.   Either way, if I ever saw one in the wild I would definitely run!

This particular tooth was unearthed by the tidal waters on the shores of Bristol Bay Alaska. A true souvenir of not only Alaska history, but of world history as well!
