Antique Brass Fire Fender Fret Work Detail Art Nouveau Fireplace Surround Kerb

READY TO SHIP BY COURIER.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS LISTING IS FOR THE BRASS FENDER ONLY.

Here is a fabulous old Art Nouveau/Victorian style, deep brass fire fender.

It has beautiful fret detailing which epitomises both the Victorian and art nouveau period and suggests to me a date somewhere around 1900 but I’m no expert.

I can tell you that it’s very well made and the construction is not at all modern so I do think it originated from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s.

Here are some size details to help you see if it fits your hearth:

The external width is 111 cms approx and the internal measurement (if you are going around a stone or brick hearth for instance) is 108 cms approx.

The external depth of the side bars is 30 cms approx and the internal depth is 28 cms approx.

The height is approximately 20 cms.

It’s difficult to weigh but I would estimate it to be between 12 and 15 kilos.

The weight and size make the shipping price a little more expensive than normal but well worth it for such a lovely thing.

It's perfect for a period or themed room or as a contrasting piece in more modern surroundings.

Remember! This fender has had a working life and as such there are bumps and marks commensurate with age and use.

Please have a good zoom in on the images and drop me a message if you have any questions.

All other ornaments, fire tools, log stove, logs and fireplace etc. are shown in the images for relative size purposes only.

Delivery is by courier. Scottish Highlands, outer islands and Northern Ireland have been excluded from the shipping list but please message me for rates as they will be higher than those shown.

Thank you for looking.
