Pair of sconces at 2 lights Louis XVI style, end 19th. Attributed to Ferdinand Barbedienne, creator and director of a famous French art foundry at 19th century. Present at all the Universal Exhibitions of its time, Maison Barbedienne was regularly distinguished by awards, notably during the Universal Exhibition of 1855 where it received the Grande Médaille d'Honneur.
Manufacturing bronze. Original gilding in good condition with a nice patina of time.
The sconces are decorated with acanthus leaves and windings.
The candle holders are surrounded by a laurel wreath.
The chasing of the sconces is very fine, a guarantee of high quality work.
Recent electrical system and tested (for E14 bulb). Cardboard candles, very good condition.
