In 1970, when the mighty "D" engine was the biggest rocket engine available, Estes wanted a rocket kit that would really show off the potential of this awesome motor. So they turned to Wayne Kellner, designer if der Red Max to create this showcase rocket.

The result was the Goblin. A small, simple rocket with incredible performance. This powerhouse rocket could reach 1700 feet! An incredible height for a single-stage rocket in that day.

In order to withstand the forces exerted on it, this kit had four stubby fins made from ⅛" balsa instead of the usual 3/32 and recovered on a six-foot-long streamer - the longest Estes ever made. Not only did this help in not losing the rocket from drift, it made it visible for tracking on the way down.

This faithful reproduction of the original K-55 Goblin kit comes with a balsa nosecone, and "D" motor mount just like the original. A fin marking guide and shock cord anchor is included as well as a link to the original kit instructions.

This is a clone kit with all-new parts replicating the K-55 kit. It does not come with a face card or any original packaging.

Built rocket is almost 14 1/2" tall and is 1.33 inches in diameter.

Recommended engine is D12-7.

Take this one to the limit and see if you can get to 1700 feet with it!
