Offered is this antique wooden flail farm tool with leather straps, used for threshing grain. The entire piece is approx. 54" long. The longer but thinner stick is about 52" long, with the thickness varying from about 1/2" to about 1 1/4". The shorter but thicker stick, carved roughly eight-sided, is about 26 1/2" long and about 2" thick, tapering slightly at each end. Although the wood certainly appears antique, the connecting piece and leather straps look somewhat newer, probably replacing the original pieces worn out through use.

The piece is in good condition. The wood has a nice patina, with some thin age cracks and one area that looks like it might have contained a knot, with some wood missing (probably always that way-see last photo), but all the wood is sturdy and in no danger of breaking. The newer connecting pieces seem well-attached.

Due to size, shipping may be very expensive. I would welcome in-person pickup by anyone close enough to make that feasible.
