SEW OR IRON ON BIKER MOTORCYCLE PATCH
Patch can be Sew on
or Iron on
To Iron on the Patch
Start by laying your
cloth on a flat, heat-resistant surface such as an ironing board. It is
recommended to iron the cloth first to ensure a smooth surface for the patch.
If the item is difficult to iron, like a backpack, try to arrange it so that
the area where the patch will be placed is flat against a hard surface.
Next, position the
patch in the desired location with the adhesive side facing down onto the
fabric. Ensure that the patch is straight and not crooked. For embroidered
patches, the adhesive side is the underside.
Heat up your iron to
the highest setting that your fabric can tolerate, making sure the steam option
is turned off and the iron is dry. Place a thin towel over the patch to protect
it and the surrounding fabric. Press the heated iron firmly over the patch for
about 15 seconds, applying as much pressure as possible.
After ironing, allow
the patch to cool before checking its adherence. Lift the towel and gently rub
the edge of the patch with your finger to see if it is securely fixed. If the
patch lifts slightly, replace the towel and press the iron down again for an
additional 10 seconds.
Top Tip
Whilst Ironing on the
patch is quick and simple, I always recommend that you add a few security tacking
stitches to the patch once you have ironed on in the desired location.
This will ensure your
patch isn’t lost, and more importantly allow you to wash the garment safely.
