This is an Extra Large Size Colima style Burnished Black pottery dog made in San Bartolo Coyotepec in Oaxaca.  San Bartolo is famous for its Black Pottery, and this dog with a corn cob in his mouth is a great example. This piece is signed by the artist (Pedro Salas) on the dog's belly.  This Colima Style dog is all handmade and hand burnished to a lovely satin Finish.   What a great gift he would make for the dog lover or a wonderful addition to your own Mexican folk Art Collection.

It measures 10 1/4 inches tall by 15 1/2 inches long and 9 inches wide.
