Up for your consideration is a vintage eight-piece set of Cutco number 59 table knives. The knives come in the original wood case, They are stainless steel with mahogany handles. Out of the eight pieces, strangely three of them have factory defects in the steel. Two of them have one spot each. One of them is heavily defective. All with the quality of the steel. I'd have to say it with a company like cutco. It would be pretty rare that something like this would get out in quality control. But as you can see from the photos, it is clearly a defect with the steel, having some pitting.

The lid of the wood box was starting to separate in the upper right side corner by the hinge. I did apply some high quality wood glue to it to help keep it together.
