1971 Dodge Challenger - Hellcat Powered Custom

This one checks all the wish list boxes of any true Mopar enthusiast, timeless styling and cool factor of the first-generation Challenger’s panicle model year, enhanced with a modern suspension and brake package all combined with the insane horsepower of a supercharged 707 Hellcat engine. This is the car that dreams are made of!

This car started life as a nice original sheet metal JH23G1B California Challenger which was completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal, and put on the rotisserie after welding in a complete US Cartools Level II chassis reinforcement kit, a much-needed improvement to help the car manage the enormous horsepower upgrade. The new PPG base clear paint job was applied in its original EV2 Hemi Orange hue and is beautifully accented by the factory reproduction matte black R/T stripes, a rear Go Wing, and a Shaker Hood!.

Suspension is a balanced combination of improved stock components and improved modern design for better handling and driving comfort. The front suspension is an entirely new RMS AlterKtion system which incorporates all tubular construction with rack and pinion steering, coil over shocks, and tubular upper control arms. Bringing up the rear are the new Mopar Performance leaf springs supporting a new 3.55 Sure-grip 8.75” rear end hung on Viking shocks. The 4-wheel disc brake package is from Wilwood, and wheels are Year One 17”x8” up front and 17”x9” out back all rolling on Nitto NT 555 G2 Tires.

An all-new interior was installed featuring top of the line Legendary seat covers and Metro door panels, new dash pad, carpeting, and headliner. The dash instruments were updated with a complete complement of Dakota Digital gauges. A reproduction "Tuff Wheel" Steering wheel was chosen, and the stock appearing AM E-body radio has been updated with Aurora Design 2.0 surround sound, 6”x9” and 2.5” Pioneer speakers all integrated and stealthily hidden which can be controlled manually or remotely through Bluetooth on your phone. All of this can be enjoyed in comfort supplied by the Vintage Air climate control system.

The crown jewel of the build is the 707HP engine and 8 speed automatic transmission which are from a 2018 Hellcat Challenger with a little over 3,000 original miles. The entire engine, transmission, wire harness, and accessory package remain intact and are incorporated into the 1971 Challenger. Top of the line TTI headers and full exhaust system allow the Hemi to growl a bit louder and make a few extra ponies to boot. It was all done cleanly and professionally and is well sorted and dependable, it drives like a new car but has the cool factor of the 1971 Challenger, the best of both worlds!

The car is located in Miami Florida and can be viewed by appointment. This is a private sale, not a dealership, any questions call or text anytime (cell) 801-940-2689 Scott.
