You are bidding on a rare & complete Book of Genesis Bible Scroll (Out of 5 books by Moshe). The scroll is Hand written in the original Hebrew Script on soft Cream color Deer parchment The scroll came from Yemen and is approximately 200 yrs old. The parchment holds its ink well and the letters remain black and easy to read. The scroll has a warm Cream color color this is due to the deer parchment that is used and the process used in making the scroll. Scrolls of this type are no longer made and the process for making these distinctive scrolls has been lost over the centuries. Scrolls like these are extremely rare and seldom seen in synagogues due to age and is important for its rarity of the examples the Yemeni tradition of the Hebrew writings of the Bible. 

The situation: The scroll considering its age There are few signs of wear and age. The parchment holds its ink well and the letters remain black and easy to read. The first parchment sheet was replaced and it was rewritten in Israel on white parchment (probably when it arrived in Israel from Yemen it was damaged so it was replaced). Overall he is in relatively good condition for his age.

This Torah Scroll is written in the Authentic Hebrew Language on Deer Skin Parchment, This is one of a kind with style that was used in Yemen 200 yrs ago, There are many special characters and Spirals in this Torah like the 'Pe lefufa' or spiral Pe 'פ having its 'nose' twisted inwards (it was also called 'a double Pe' that means a Pe having another inside).

The scribe's tradition of 'unusual, curved and spiral letters' brings the current Torah book to a special rarity. These special characters have Kabbalistic meaning for them.

The scroll contains 12 pieces of parchment that are connected together using a thread called giddin which is made from the leg sinews of a kosher animal & contains 57 Columns.
