Description:


Fourth edition, complete in two volumes. Bound in half vellum and brown marbled paper-covered boards. Spines with elaborate gilt decoration, and gilt lettering on red and brown morocco labels. All edges coloured red. Externally, both volumes remain sound and firm. Vellum a little marked and discoloured with light wear to extremities. Internally, also sound and firm. Marbled endpapers, clean and bright. Half-titles present. Prior owner's name at head of title-pages. Pages a little age-toned with scattered light spotting, handling marks, and other minor blemishes. One small annotation to margin of one index page (p.471) in each volume, otherwise both volumes remaining generally tidy throughout.
