This is a native American beaded flat bag probably made by either the Yakima or Nez Perce.  It measures 10.5 inches tall and 9 inches wide.  The cotton lining looks like what we in the South called flour sacking.  Flour was bagged in colorful cotton fabric made to be recycled into clothing or whatever.   The two handles are 10 inch strips of soft leather which add about 4.5 inches to the height of the bag.  The leather is soft with an irregular surface.  I think is may be brain tanned, but I'm not an expert on such things.  It's been part of my collection for a few decades.  Study the pictures.  They're an important part of the description.  Email if you have questions.
