A stunning Fender Fretless Precision Bass in 3 Tone Sunburst, in excellent condition. Has to be played to understand how amazing this bass is. Full photos to be uploaded very soon. Grab an early 70’s vintage looking bass for about a quarter of the price, which plays like a dream. These came in Sunburst with a Rosewood fretboard as standard (Original Fender catalogue page of their Fretless P bass found in last picture), and this version is based on an early 1972 model with a modern twist. In 1972 Fender changed the wider Precision “C” neck measuring 1 3/4″ (44.5mm) to a thinner “B” neck version that measured 1 5/8″ (41.3mm).
This bass has a fully loaded Fender Japan Alder body (pickups/CTS pots/dime .47 capacitor/cloth wiring/bridge/tug bar/chrome flat top knobs/‘F’ stamped neck plate/chrome bridge and pickup covers) with a tortoiseshell pickguard (Fender changed to black pickguards in late 1974) and an excellent quality Japanese after market, licensed by Fender, Maple “B” neck with Rosewood fingerboard measuring 41.3mm at the nut, built in the same factory as the AllParts necks (which cost £325 when first bought) with a 1972 Fender Precision Bass decal and loaded with a chrome Gotoh RB20 round string tree and chrome Fender Japan (Gotoh GB10) Bass Tuners (at a cost of £115). Complete with a tweed hard case.
