Offered here is a fresh estate sale find a vintage Lionel #70-1602-202 "Nickel Plate Special" freight train set. This set is near complete (maybe a couple of small items like signs etc missing but all major components are included. Please see the pictures to see what is included.
Unfortunately, the original box is not available and not included. This actually is a blessing in disguise because shipping the large box is more expensive than shipping in a normal size box. It will be carefully packed to make sure it arrives to you in the same condition that it leaves here in.
This set is in excellent condition and doesn't appear to have been used much, maybe once around the Christmas tree.
Included with this set is the following:
- #8617, 4-4-2 steam locomotive, tested works fine
- Tender
- 16 curved track sections
- 18 straight track sections
- Trainmaster transformer, power supply, tested OK
- CTC lock on and terminal wires
- All paperwork, instructions etc.
- #5021 & 5022 manual right and left track switches
- 2 telephone poles (original set probably had 8 poles)
- 8 yard signs
- #6137 hopper car
- #6254 gondola car with 2 canisters
- #7926 box car
- #6919 caboose
