Bio: Padre Pio, born Francesco Forgione on May 25, 1887, in Pietrelcina, Italy, was a revered Capuchin friar, mystic, and stigmatist. From an early age, he displayed a deep devotion to God and a desire to serve. At the age of 15, he joined the Capuchin Order and took the name Pio in honor of St. Pius V. Ordained as a priest in 1910, Padre Pio began experiencing mystical phenomena, including stigmata, in 1918. These wounds, resembling those of Christ's crucifixion, appeared on his hands, feet, and side, and remained with him for over fifty years until his death. Despite their painful nature, Padre Pio accepted them as a gift from God and a means to share in the suffering of Christ for the salvation of souls. Padre Pio's reputation for holiness and his alleged supernatural gifts, such as bilocation, prophecy, and miraculous healings, drew pilgrims from around the world to the friary of San Giovanni Rotondo, where he spent most of his life. He dedicated himself tirelessly to the sacrament of confession, spending countless hours hearing confessions and offering spiritual guidance to those who sought his counsel. Throughout his life, Padre Pio faced skepticism and scrutiny, including investigations by Church authorities. However, his popularity and the testimonials of those who witnessed his miracles and experienced his intercessions continued to grow. Padre Pio's relics, both first and second class, hold great significance for his devotees. First-class relics include items directly associated with his body, such as strands of hair, pieces of clothing, or fragments of bone. These relics are venerated for their connection to the saint himself.
