FAQs

Why Buy from us?

We have been fixing computers for almost 20 years and take pride in saving perfectly serviceable second-hand laptops and giving them a second life. All our computers are extensively tested and checked, repaired where needed and given a full internal clean to ensure they run for many more years before we sell them on. The planet benefits, and we can sell laptops at a fraction of the price of new units.

What do you mean 'repaired'?

Most of the laptops we fix have simple faults like worn-out hard drives, faulty memory or damaged screens. Defective parts are removed, replaced and upgraded and the internals are vacuumed out to remove all the dust and dirt. The internal clock battery is replaced if needed and everything is checked over before being rebuilt.

So I don't end up with someone else's old files?

No - all hard drives are fully erased and a fresh copy of the operating system is installed (and activated where needed). We then carry out a full OS update to make sure the computer is ready to use as soon as it arrives.

But why don't you replace the main battery?

Let's be honest, how often do most people use their laptop away from a mains power supply? So that we can offer our laptops at highly competitive prices, we don't typically replace main batteries. If you always intend to use the laptop plugged in, you make a significant cost saving, and we always include a power supply! If you do need to replace the battery, in most cases they can be purchased separately.

So can I play game 'X' on this laptop?

We always try to help determine if a laptop will play your favourite game, but we recommend you do your own research before buying. The website Game Debate is an excellent reference point.

But I want to play the very latest games, run hundreds of tasks at once and never have to wait for anything...

Our laptops are good, but not that good! If you need a super-powerful, ultra-modern laptop that screams through all your tasks, you'll need to spend many hundreds of pounds more than we ask for our laptops. But you really knew that already, didn't you?

OK, I'll be realistic, but I still have more questions...

We're always happy to help. If you need more info, just ask!
