I'm not sure what is going on here. It appears that the angel is repairing or tuning, rather than playing, the instrument. The headstock is rounded but facing in the wrong direction as the strings are visible as well. I'm not even sure what kind of instrument is shown. It has only five strings. 

Despite all of the above, it's a very interesting image. 

The wood block measures approximately 5 and 1/2 inches wide by 7 and 1/4 inches high by 3/4 of an inch thick. It weighs approximately 16 ounces. 

CONDITION: Good vintage condition. Typical wear and signs of use. A few nail heads have some rust but no nails are missing.
