A VERY RARE FIND:

Here is an excellent, near mint, classic Sawyers View-Master Model C Stereoscope Viewer in its orginal box and outfitted with four reels featuring the Necchi-Elna line of Belvedere sewing machine cabinets.

For use as a dealer's store "catalog" to showcase the variety of cabinets available for the various Necchi machines. Comes with the original sales sheet explaining how to best use the viewer to create sales.

Slides show many models of sewing cabinets "staged" in various mid-century decor accented rooms, about half with live models at the sewing machine dressed in mid-century casual clothing.

The viewer is of the late 1940's first generation of the Bakelite body style that was View-Master's standard for decades to come.

The viewer, reels, and box are all  in excellent condition. From the estate of a local sewing machine repair shop in the 1950's.

I will note that Sawyers was a local (to Portland, Oregon) success story and was held in high esteem until the EPA started investigating its surrounds when it was sold to Mattel in the late 90's.

Their discovery? The ground water (including the company's drinking water) was deeply toxic with the trichloroethylene (TCE) and the plant was shut down in 2001. Many lawsuits and many payouts for generations of workers.... I grew up less than a 1/2 mile from this plant.
