A rather rare private imprint. Printed for private circulation. Only one recorded copy, at the British Library.

A very good, clean copy throughout. Minimal light marks or reading wear only.

Dedicated ‘by a fond mother to her three darling children’ the anonymous writer chiefly liked to moralize from the works of Martin Luther, A.W. Thorold, Bishop of Winchester, Fenelon, Octavius Winslow, and Antonio Paleario, all tending toward the Evangelical wing of the Church of England.

With a presentation to the front end paper with four names, only the name William being decipherable. Possibly a presentation from the author being a private imprint.


 
Bound in original decorated publisher’s cloth.

Upper board decorated in black and lettered in gilt.

An attractive contemporary binding.
