This is a must have book for vintage TV collectors. The manuals inside this huge volume were submitted from each of the manufacturers listed in the index and were then organized by Rider in alphabetical order. Most of the TV's covered in this volume were not done by Sams Photofact so this is one of the only sources of information on these now very rare sets.
1948 Riders
Television Manual, Volume 1. Comes complete with several prewar GE,
RCA and Westinghouse prewar sets and many of the earliest postwar TV's such as
Certified, Cleervue, Emerson 527, 545, Remington, Republic, Sightmaster, Televue,
Tel-Vision, Transvision and Viewtone.
This is indeed Riders
1st and best volume of TV manuals because it covers many of the earliest
postwar sets and is the only source of information on several very rare and
desirable collectible vintage TV's. Many of the manuals have illustrations,
diagrams, drawings, parts lists and fold out schematics. See index scans below
for a full list of manufacturers and models.I don't own the Index so it is not
being offered with the manual, the scans are full size and make nice print
copies for future reference.
Cosmetics of the covers,
spine and manuals are excellent, best you can ever hope to find for a
publication 70 years old. There is no mold or dampness damage, no writing on
any of the pages and it is complete with no missing pages. The pages are very brittle and tear easily, there are just a few I spotted small tears. It should be handled very carefully. Most of these early
volumes are well used/abused, moldy, have dampened/sticky pages, missing pages and have notes penned in.
