Vintage Wooden Box Tea Caddy  with floral design on lid

in need of restoration

Size (approx.):27cm long x 16cm tall x 15.5cm wide (front to back)

Condition: black paint chipped at the edges, no key for lock, but open. The 2 rear vertical edges are cracked along the seam. It looks like the paint is cracked and the wood has separated but it is not really possible to know for sure, until the paint is removed down to a bare box. The left hand side you can see daylight from inside but not the right hand.
Hinges work well, if a little tarnished. Paint has surface scratches.

Inside: there is a separate box containing the foil lined compartments. The main box is in better condition inside. The back wall needs knocking in a little and there is a scratch on the left hand side from the top, down 5cm but other than that, and a bit of dust, looks ok.
The box containing the compartments, is very worn inside and the silver foil has peeled off. Again the back wall needs knocking into place a little.  The lids have a mottled finish which is scratched and the wood is  chipped around the edges.

A fairly straight forward  restoration for an interesting tea caddy.
