F.M. Beneito #EN/2, 40mm Italian Alpine Troops Metal Figure Vignette WWI, Vintage and Rare.

A Superbly sculpted 40mm (1/45) vignette of Italian Alpini ascending the top of a mountain during WWI.

The scene depicts the ascension of Monte Nero (2245 m) the 16th June 1915, where two units of Alpini during a surprise night climb, caught off guard the 6 companies of Hungarian Hovend guarding the top and after a brief firefight, the defenders surrendered leaving 628 prisoners. But of course the scene can depict any mountainous location of WWI.

The all metal kit includes 3 figures, a scale canvas rope, a base depicting the rocky side of a mountain and instructions.

Although pre-owned, the model is in New condition with all the small parts still in their original closed clear plastic bag and I replaced them in their original position on the foam holder.
