This Rare Vintage Ericsson Ericovox Rotary Speaker Phone has been gently used, and shows some age, but is in very good condition, as shown in the accompanying photos. When last tested a few years ago, it worked well, though it hasn’t been tested since. The original phone cord has an adapter on it to comply with more modern landline installation as well. Historically, Ericsson designed its first speakerphone in the 1930s, but it was in 1959 that the company made a major breakthrough with the development of the Ericovox, according to the website EricssonHistory.com. Until then, speakerphones experienced problems with ambient noise and echoes. The pyramid-shaped Ericovox features an amplification system that addressed the background noise problems by automatically amplifying the audio in the direction of the speaker, decreasing it in other directions. This item ships via USPS Priority Mail.
