Up for Buy it Now or Best Offer (make an offer!), a rare, unique vintage color lithograph pictorial / illustrated map of New York City, "Nieuw Amsterdam in Amerika 1658," from 1929, by artist "CEJ." CEJ is Charles Everett Johnson, from Gilroy, California, just south of San Francisco. He was born in 1866, and practiced art and graphic design in Southern California, until the 1940s. This is a particularly rare map in that regard! Map marked CEJ in lower right corner. While there is no date on this lithograph, others from this series (Chicago, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Boston) are marked differently, including no markings, CEJ, CEJ 29, and CEJ 1929. May be plates from a book or magazine, but I have been unable to find any others like it! Measures approximately 11.25" x 8.75" but ships folded along original crease.
For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in! Color lithograph illustrated map Nieuw Amsterdamn in Amerika 1658, in used condition, with age, use, and storage related wear. Crease down center, with a .25" inch tear at the top of the crease. Small tear on bottom left, slightly creased top right corner. Handle with care! Otherwise vivid illustrated lithograph map in orange and black tones displays quite nicely!
