Nearly finished project. Bought for my since departed father as a gift nearly 12 years ago. He procrastinated in his younger days but never realised his dream. Sadly he died before I could give it to him and I then procrastinated for 8 years before I got it to where it is now which is 99% complete. The body was restored by Ryan Bauer and the chassis and paint done by David Taylor’s Panel Beating and Spray in Townsville. Essentially a ground-up nut and bolt rebuild. I was going to restore it to original form but along it’s life the engine was changed to a 1500cc so I thought I’d style it to my liking. Original parts on the car are the glassware, gearbox and engine (mostly) and some smaller bits but mostly this is a new build. The paint is correctly coded VW Ruby Red. Many questions I’m sure therefore happy to answer relevant ones.

New parts include: the whole electrical system; battery; disc brakes all round (and upgraded master cylinder); 2" narrowed and height adjustable front beam and leaves by Skinned Knuckles; BBW wheels; all VDO gauges (speedo is GPS referenced); height adjustable rear plates; and the list goes on.

Old parts include: everything that came off except the old drum brakes and maybe some small bits that I've forgotten about.

Engine runs beautifully.

The trailer it’s on is also available for another $4500. From the Big Trailer Warehouse it's payload is 1200kg. The KG fits it perfectly and it comes with a battery (included) powered winch. It currently has 7 months rego. It has travelled from Townsville to Cairns to Peeramon. Total.

Unregistered. Will require new gearbox mounts (I fitted new nolathane ones which perished) which I already have to go with it. Does not need a new clutch but I have one of those to go with it too. It may need a compliance plate due to upgraded seats and belts. It will need a wheel alignment.

Why am I selling it? I have no time, even to enjoy it once completed, and it needs to go to a new home.

I can deliver if the price is right. Advertised elsewhere.

I’m located in Peeramon, Nth QLD and if it's advertised it's still available.

No time wasters please.
