I bought this car on 6th September 2015 with the intention of building a Historic road rally car as a follow on to my Ford Cortina mark 2 Historic stage rally car. However when I decided to commence work on it earlier this year and only then having studied the paperwork that came with it I realized that it is probably too good to be modified for rallying. For instance I found among the paperwork the original Retail Order for a new Ford vehicle dated 5th February 1966 and the original Purchase Invoice dated 12th February 1966 the purchaser being a Mr R E Taylor of Grays in Essex who paid the total purchase price of £593 three shillings and fourpence. These documents and many service records, invoices, old tax discs and MOT certificates and other information are all contained in a box file given to me by the previous owner.
The car itself is extremely solid with no signs of surface corrosion underneath having been previously welded by someone else. The welding in itself isn't pretty and is not covered in underseal but it suited me for rallying purposes. Externally the body has been resprayed at some time and is by no means showroom finish but it could be tidied up and the car used as is. Internally the front seats will need cosmetic attention as would the the interior door panels. The carpets look fresh. These are all things that could be done during a running renovation. At the moment the car has been dry stored in my garage as can be seen on the attached photographs. The clutch master and slave cylinders are seized because the fluid has leaked out. A new clutch master and slave cylinders are included in the sale along with a new interconnecting pipe. The engine does turn by hand, a little diesel oil having been previously dropped into each cylinder. I haven't tried to start the engine as I would imagine that the petrol tank will need draining and possibly flushing before adding fresh fuel. Included in the sale is a Motolita alloy steering wheel with a new Motolita Ford Anglia long neck boss.

The car will have to be trailered away which I can arrange for any UK mainland destination subject to the purchaser agreeing to pay the cost in advance of delivery.

I would encourage viewing so that a prospective purchaser can satisfy themself as to the vehicle's condition rather than relying on the information shown by me in this description which I hope has been an honest one.

In summary therefore this an opportunity to purchase a solid car that with very little work could be on the road easily before the summer.

I will require a BACS deposit of £250.00 within 24 hours of auction end and balance by cash or BACS before the vehicle leaves my premises if being collected. Or payment in full for auction price and collection with delivery cost (to be quoted) before the vehicle leaves my premises. Please remember that I have suggested that the vehicle be inspected by prospective purchasers, should a successful offer be made by a prospective purchaser who has not inspected the vehicle and who is relying on the photographs and my description only, then any offer made is binding and I will not accept any further subsequent bartering of any form.

This vehicle will be advertised elsewere and may be withdrawn from eBay at any time should an offer be made in excess of the eBay asking price
