This Early 20th Century Wood Viaticum Cabinet and Home Altar Box is constructed with ornate details and two metal crosses on the front. This Alter Cabinet was once used for The Last Rites of the Catholic Church and contained the necessary articles required by the priest when administering the Sacrament to the sick. Home Alters were also used to record family records such as births, marriages and deaths. The interior of the cabinet is lined with purple velvet material and is quite worn. 12"W x 6.75"D x 14.5"H
