This is a wonderful antique wooden shelf like those that were so popular in homes in the early 1900's. Hand-painted china plates could be displayed on the grooved lower shelf, and teacups were hung from the hooks on the
bottom (see 2nd photo). Other pieces had a place on the top shelf,
where there is also a groove for plates or frames. There are existing
holes for mounting the shelf on the wall. The shelf measures 34" wide,
12.5" high, and 4.5" deep at the top shelf.
Currently, we have seen shelves like this used to display treasured photographs, or other memorabilia. This piece is in very nice
vintage condition!
