Pair Antique French Handwoven Slubby Chanvre Linen Towels Torchons

In excellent antique condition no holes or marks. Made from handwoven natural unbleached chanvre linen.    Beautiful "grain" to the weave with specks of flax throughout.   Hanging tag top and bottom to both torchons.  I think these were probably made from antique chemises as they both have hand stitched gathers to the very top of each one - "make do and mend" 

Perfect to use as towels as intended but as they are both larger than normal these would make great window blinds, table runners, bread basket liners etc.

Freshly laundered, line dried, ironed and ready to use.
