1895 Heian Shrine Medal, In Commemoration of 1100th Anniversary of Transferring the Capital to Kyoto.
Apparently this medal was issued in different forms to those who made donations for construction of the Heian Shrine in Kyoto. Medal is 24mm in diameter, comes with ribbon and double pin attachment. Please see the photos for more details on condition.
"The inscription at obverse reads Sampai (Shinto Prayer)
The reverse inscription (from left to the right) reads:
- Heiansento
(Transfer the Capitol)
- Sennenkinensai (1100th Year Anniversary of the
Capital Foundation)
- Kyosankai(Support Association)
- Meiji 28 Nen (1895)"
