Externally this machine is very clean with only a handful of obvious marks (see photos). The optical and floppy drives both work, but I have not tested the tape drive - I only left it installed for the aesthetic. The case pops open and the PSU folds out to reveal what is inside - a 500MHz Mendocino Celeron (the best Celeron ever released) with 256MB of SDRAM and a 40GB hard drive (with clean SMART status).

The motherboard uses the Intel i810 chipset, which also provides the graphics processor. If you want to have a faster GPU, there are multiple PCI slots. However, with an integrated Creative AudioPCI 64V (same as the Ensoniq ES1371?) which seems to be Sound Blaster compatible, this is going to be far more suitable for DOS and early era Windows 98 games, where the integrated graphics is more than enough.

It has a clean install of Windows 98 SE, with all required drivers and the CD has been copied to the hard drive so it won't get upset when it can't find the installation CD. I have also installed the USB Mass Storage driver, allowing you to use USB flash drives for moving stuff back and forth - like games you download from abandonware sites.

I have taken the liberty of pre-installing Age of Empires, Commander Keen, Crystal Caves, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Dune 2000, Jill of the Jungle, Quake, Quake 2, Wolfenstein 3D, Supaplex. All of these run great, which gives you an idea of what era of gaming to aim for. However, if you have a particular title that it simply *must* run - let me know and I can install and test it for you in advance.

I have installed fresh thermal paste on the CPU cooler and it's very clean internally. Note that all of the capacitors look healthy, corroborated by my own stress testing. I have put in a new CMOS battery and updated the BIOS to the latest released.

This was an absolute pleasure to restore and I look forward to moving this unique piece of history on to their new owner.

It will be carefully packaged and dispatched same day - however if you are local and want to collect, I do have multiple CRT monitors that would pair nicely with this as well as keyboards and mice for a full build.
