Diesel Locomotive #552
This is an Atlas p/n 8711 HO Scale Western Pacific Alco S-2 Diesel Switcher, #552. The locomotive features operating front headlight and numberboards, metal wheels, plastic handrails, Kadee #5 couplers, a 5-pole can motor with dual flywheels for smooth operation at all speeds. It has a heavy cast-metal frame and all-wheel drive provides excellent tractive effort and pulling power.
This locomotive was purchased new, twenty years ago, Kadee #5 couplers were installed and the locomotive was test run, it was also tested for tractive pulling effort for club certification, but never run on a layout. The motor and drive system were jumper tested prior to placing this add. Otherwise this locomotive is like new!
