Specialized Epic Comp Carbon full suspension frame, brain shock and seatpost.

This is a 2014 frame, 100mm travel, medium sized. It was my race bike for 8 years and has been raced all over the world (10 countries and counting) at elite level in a variety of expedition adventure races, mtb orienteering events and endurance mtb races. I’m 5ft 9 and I’d say I was in the middle of the size range for the bike. The saddle could have gone down a fair bit, or up another 4-5cm.

As such it has been very well maintained but is showing the cosmetic wear and tear associated with heavy race use over an extended period of time - in short it looks pretty scruffy but works well.

Comes with seatpost, rear axle and an old headset. I’ve left an old cable threaded through the internal routing to make it easier for you to install your own cables.

Bad points:

- scruffy. Most of the bike was protected by helitape applied when new. Some is still there but looks very tired, some has peeled off leaving an evil sticky residue. Plenty of scratches, scuffs, heel rub, etc.

- one of the plastic downtube cable guides is broken. I assume spares are available from Specialized for a couple of quid, or you could use the internal routing like I did.

Good points:

- structurally sound. No material damage to the carbon or aluminium beyond cosmetic wear and tear.

- the shock works well, including the brain lockout. It has just had new air can seals fitted and an air can service and hasn’t been ridden since.

- the pivot bearings have just been replaced and haven’t been ridden since.

- I’ll throw in the seatpost (scruffy but works fine) and the headset (probably needs new bearings but will work fine as a stopgap measure.

You are welcome to come and have a look ahead of buying. Prefer collection, but I’ll package for posting if needed. Postage will be expensive due to value and package size however, sorry about that! It’ll be with Parcel Force 48 tracked service.
