Very chic and simple vintage French Limoges porcelain handmade apothecary / pharmacy jar.

Has a decorative hand painted script in gold with 'Cocaine' in the centre signed at the base 'Limoges France'

There are one or two tiny pin sized flea bites - these are like air bubbles that were trapped beneath the glaze. There are some lumps and bumps on the sides mainly - this would have occurred when it was made.

The gold is in good condition and intact. There are some scratches on the handle of the lid. Some marks on the base and inside of the lid where the porcelain was left unglazed.

It's a beautiful jar with a high vitreous shine. I don't come across these very simple ones very often.

Diameter at base - 11 cm
