Six German soldiers pose next to the ruins of a bridge circa 1916 during their occupation of the town. Two years later, Dun-sur-Meuse was completely reduced to rubble by contending artilleries during the Battle of Verdun.
Used, with writing and franked cancel marks dated 9.24.16, but both unreadable otherwise. A small bite out of bottom center, black speck in sky.
