METAL 16mm FILM REEL

Tayloreel, originally known as Taylor-Shantz, was founded in 1906 in Rochester, NY. They are manufacturers of reels for surface mounted devices. Reels available in all size tapes from 8 mm to 200 mm & diameters from 3 in. to 22 in. Other products available are motion picture reels, loading spools, film cores & cans, cases & boxes for audiovisual & microfilm. Many of their reels were almost identical to those of Goldberg Bros. who also happened to be out of Rochester NY. and marked "ROCHESTER, NY. Because of that, the two products were sometimes confused for each other and some had rumored that the two companies were actually one and the same with Taylor a subsidiary of Goldberg. In September 1998, Tayloreel and its production moved down to Gainesville, Georgia.

16mm, 1,600 FT. reels were usually used for commercial made films because of their capacity.

CONFORMS TO U.S. MILITARY SPECIFICATIONS

Mil-Spec is an abbreviated term that stands for "military specification." Any item used by the U.S. Military Forces must have a Mil-Spec number. For an item to be Mil-Spec, every aspect has to meet criteria defined by the military to often include dimensions, materials, testing of parts, etc. This reel is approved for purchase and use by U.S. Military Forces.

This auction is for a vintage 16mm movie film metal reel. It measures 13.75 inches in diameter and has a capacity of 1,600 feet of film. There is a small amount of miscellaneous film on the reel. (See Pics)

It was part of an inventory removed from a home of a CAMERA COLLECTOR after he died and the owners sold the home. These cameras were among a number of CAMERAS AND PHOTOGRAPHIC SUPPLIES. They all looked like in decent shape. So, I am selling it "AS IS" NO RETURNS NO REFUNDS, and pricing it accordingly.

Condition: This reel appears to be in excellent condition. It is about 50 years old, some may have slight surface rust or markings, see pics. Some reels may have a small 16mm film sample as requested. It's only a couple feet. Toss the sample if you don't want it. Due to the quantity available, the item pictured may not be the actual item you will receive. COLORS MAY VARY. See Pics.

So far, I have sold quite a bit of items from that lot and have had no complaints yet!!
