True vintage 1960s - Thierry Mugler was head designer at Andre Peters London at the time this outfit was made - Andre Peters London/Louis Feraud designed for Harrods dress & matching gilet. My mother bought both together from the Louis Feraud in Harrods department store, Knightsbridge - in 1969 to be exact.

The dress is bright red & white check in quality Swiss cotton, mid-length dress, a-line skirt with subtle box pleats front & back from the thighs down - 2 on left are pleated left and 2 on right are pleated right, with buttons from the neck to the waist line with nice little red buttons. Large collar. Long sleeves with pleats into the cuff ends, which close with matching 2 red buttons. Beautifully tailored in panels, with darts at the bust-line, and into the waistline. Lovely matching belt, with matching red plastic oval buckle, with near invisible white belts loops on the sides. The body & skirt of the dress is lined in thick white polyester. (1 spare button inside the lining).

The gilet is in the same red colour, in quality pure new wool, is v-neck with white trim detailing down the front and around the pockets, with the same red buttons down the front. The chest has 2 flap over mock pockets, and the 2 flap over pockets on the hips are open & lined. More white trim detailing across the top of the chest, which continues on the back. Vented lower down. Lined in red polyester, with a silver coat hanging loop at the neck.

Gilet - in very good structural condition, except for a stain on the front right (tea/coffee).

Dress - during storage has become stained under the arms - inside & out - and around the inside of the back collar. Also has the same stain mark on the lower right, as the gilet. Slight discolouration on front left hem hardly noticeable). Except for all that....in very good structural condition.

See photos - more photos available upon request. I'm sure a professional cleaner could attend to all these.

Labels read, Gilet: 'Designed for Harrods by Louis Feraud of Paris'
