The "Conway Stewart 388" was made in England from 1939 till 1950, this is stamped on the side of the pen. The fountain pen does work, and has a lever filler with a lockdown system clicking into place when closed.

It may need a new ink sack.

The original 14 karat gold nib writes with the smooth medium line. A fine example of an English made lever filling pen, the marbled green color is not very common as green was considered for those of a superstitious nature to be an unlucky color. Color. A quality pen with an excellent pedigree.

The propelling pencil still has lead but it has completely hardened.
