SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 17.5 x 20 cm, 7 x 8 inches (medium) plus margins. 

ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: Stone lithograph by the Revd. W.F. Francis of Great Saxham, Suffolk.

PROVENANCE:  Published for the Anastatic Drawing Society. "The object of the Society is to delineate remains of Antiquity; e.g. ancient Ecclesiastical, Military, and Domestic Edifices, Sepulchral Monuments, Fonts, Brasses, Stained Glass, Tiles, Armour, Dress, Jewellery, Plate Embroidery, Furniture, Carvings, Illuminations of ancient MSS, Copies of rare Prints, Portraits, Seals, Coins, Heraldry, &c., &c., illustrative of the early and middle ages.". Anastatic drawings employed a form of lithographic printing, which was well suited to the production of facsimiles.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:   Audley is a large village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Audley Rural, in the Newcastle-under-Lyme district, in Staffordshire, England. The parish church of St James is on Church Street, at the top of Wilbraham's Walk. Christians have met together on the site of the present church building for nearly 1000 years. Part of the Lichfield Diocese of the Church of England, the church is linked to St John's, Alsager's Bank and St Martin's, Talke in a united benefice established by the Diocese. It is a Grade II* listed building.
