Fabulous Edwardian Military Side Drum with Royal & Wilkinson Coat of Arms (c.1910-20)

This wonderful ex-military drum has long since been retired with both skins removed and fitted with a wooden base.

The 14.5” x 15”H case retains the original Royal Crest with Kings crown to the front and has a version of the Wilkinson Coat of Arms to the rear. It depicts a silver edged shield with a blue chevron with three gold crescents. Around the chevron are three shamrocks in black, crested with a Stag’s head and lower scroll with the Latin words “Incepta Persequor” which translates to “I Prosecute my Undertakings”.

It has the original leather rope tensioners to the front, painted wooden edges and brass furniture to the base, which make great legs. It is in overall solid used condition with bags of patina & wear commensurate with its age.

It would make a great log bin!
